A Local Musician Leaves This World

Greetings, Blues Fans!

Last week I got sad news that the husband of one of my second cousins died of a massive heart attack the day after his 50th birthday. Paul Richards was a music lover and performer who most recently played with a local blues quartet, the Michael Terry Group. I didn't know Paul well, but always heard about his musical talent. It was not until I attended his wake that I saw he'd been playing the blues! I'm going to try to get ahold of some of his recordings for a future show, to honor this wonderful, talented family man and all the fallen brothers and sisters from our St. Louis Blues scene.

Hope you all had a chance to check out the Big Muddy Blues Festival. If not, there's always next year. The event is free and I found it to be a pleasant crowd and an easy venue. Thanks to all who made the event possible.

Have you checked out STLBLUES.NET? It's a great source for finding out who is playing where around town. Some great artist bios, too. Definitely worth the surf. Peace, love, and da bluz! Lisa
