The Pirate Joe Radio Show Playlists

Well... We planned a fantastic show today. That fell through, so Ashley the Bard and Pirate Joe had to pull one out of our arses. It turned out just as good!

Just a little bit today. Literally got out the Station ID, two songs and was cut off by the host of the show. 11:10-11:18ish.

Monday, 12/8 I pirated another show from an unsuspecting DJ who left their ship (read shift) unattended just long enough for me to sneak in there and take over! 12:25-1:00.

Drunkard Ryan picked about 40 minutes worth of today's music. He set the theme as Hell. Anything having to do with devils, demons, fire, flames, hell,etc. you'd better believe he's the reason I played it. All music today to let me work on homework. Hope you enjoyed it. Next week, normal format.

Danny McSquare left himself wide open for attack so ol' Pirate Joe here had no problem moving in and taking over the studio this fine Wednesday from 12:00-1:00.

Today we had a great PJRS. Drunkard Rayn was in the MSC, but not on the show. He is still being Vembered and thus his trip could not end in studio. We did however have a first ever, Viking Christopher was in studio! We only did the first half of the show as per normal, DJ Mailyn did the second half for us while we played Rock Band 2 to raise money for Uapalooza. Okay well, we did end up playing Rock Band a lot, but the idea was that those walking through the MSC could donate some money to play. Drunkard Rayn, Viking Christopher, and Pirate Joe had fun. Hope you'll join us the next time we do this. The pieces from the playlist after Anthony Badell's song is courtesy of the shuffle feature on my phone. Also, I played Rock Band 2 on the air for two songs. That was a first for me too.

Today we had Viking Christopher and Drunkard Rayn on the show. Drunkar Rayn was in the studio today. A small part of his "vembering" is (for using a Mac during No Mac No-Vember) includes a misspelling or even mispronunciation of his name. Rayn is the accepted way to do so. Talked politics today. A first (at least in a long time) but there was so much more to the show so if you missed it, I'm sorry for you.

Today, we had Ashley the Bard in studio. Viking Christopher and Vagabond Wagner joined us through the magic of the internet! We did a lot of video game talk again because there is so much going on in that realm right now. Vagabond Wagner has agreed to start updating The Pirate Joe Radio Blog (which Pirate Joe has let that fall by the wayside). We'll see how that goes with more to come about that later.

Today we had Viking Christopher as well as Vagabond Wagner joining myself on the PRJS. Vagabond Wagner attended the Tokyo Game Show (TGS) last week and was kind enough to share this highly unique and desirable experience with the rest of us. It was very much a video game show. Hope you enjoyed.

Today was the first anniversary of The (award winning) Pirate Joe Radio Show.

In studio we had Drunkard Ryan alongside Pirate Joe. Joining us through the internet we had Viking Christopher from Kansas, Drunkard girlfriend from Missouri, and Vagabond Wagner from Japan.

Some milestones The Pirate Joe Radio Show has crossed over the past year include (in no particular order):
-The first Pirate Joe Radio Show (it was called "Pirate Joe Radio Show", "The" came later). The show was run through cds and featured only Pirate Joe talking about "newsy-type things" after every song. The general layout was song, story, song, story...
-Pirate Joe later began to use his laptop as a medium for music, plugging it in through the 1/8" jack in studio.
-Viking Christopher began joining the show as a co-host.
-Drunkard Ryan began joining the show as a co-host.
-Ashley The Bard joined the the show. As a result, the show adopted the separate naming scheme for females and males. Males are named with an adjective or noun, then their name (X + name). Females are named with their name, then the word "the," then a noun (name + the + x).
-Pirate Joe began using his phone for the music for the show from week to week.
-Google software usage increased steadily as the show progressed. The only time google software usage decreased was when Skype was substitued for Google Talk to facilitate multiple on air but out of studio guests. There was much trail and failed adaptation of google software along the way.
With the moving of Vagabond Wagner to Japan, the show became the unofficial first (we're still checking into the officialness of this) internationally hosted radio show on The U.
-Pirate Joe became the president of SEMPA (the organization that houses The U).
-Pirate Joe became an award winning host when SEMPA awarded him a Micy Award.
-The Pirate Joe Coffee Break was invented when Pirate Joe played 3 songs in a row while Drunkard Ryan retrieved coffee one day.
-International Talk Like A Pirate Day 2008. The whole show was spoken like a pirate but differently than usual.
-Theme shows emerged to celebrate events that Pirate Joe and "the crew" were excited about.

Today was President's day on the PJRS. Pirate Joe was elected the president of SEMPA, the organization The U is under. Pirate Joe tried to pick songs about his presidency at SEMPA but got sidetracked. In celebration of the day, we had a full ship. Vikings and Vagabonds and Drunkards. Oh, my. (Or at least one of each).

Arrr! Today be International Talk Like A Pirate Day! As a result, Pirate Joe and Viking Christopher exagerated their pirate speech, just a little. Additionally, we picked songs with at least a minimal link to: pirates, something nautical, or the like. Hope you enjoyed. Talk like a pirate all weekend long!

Today we did our standard show. Viking Christopher sent the on air hours helping to enteratin the masses. Vagabond Wagner's computer is down and out. We'll get him back with us when we can. Next week, on Friday, is International Talk Like A Pirate Day! The PJRS will respond accordingly.

Half our ship sunk today when I was unable to acces the computer in the studio. Without it we were unable to be graced with the prescence of Viking Christopher or Vagabond Wagner. Additionally, we were unable to find up to the minute current topics to talk about. We had to suffice with 1 to 3 day old topics. On the bright side, Drunkard Ryan was able to join us for the first time this semester because he was in studio with me! We still didn't hit the top of the "Talk Stream Live" list, but we'll get there. A lot of music in today's show because of the technical difficulties, and it was all music picked by Drunkard Ryan with the exceptions of the first and last, which are Pirate Joe staples. Lastly, we intorduced a new Pirate Joe concept, "The PJRS Coffee Break" which is what I will call it from now on when I play a song, do a PSA, play a second song, do another PSA, and then play a third song.

Today is a very special day on the Pirate Joe Radio Show. We had a guest on the show who was in Japan while the show was going on... and we had him live! That guest was Vagabond Wagner. Viking Christopher was also present and yours truly was running the whole thing from inside the studio. By the way, we're pretty sure the international thing is a first for The U.

Welcome to the first Pirate Joe Radio Show for the new semester. Welcome to Fall '08, everyone! Pirate Joe and Viking Christopher were runnin' the show today with Vagabond Wagner joining the ranks (on our computer screens only) for the last few minutes of show time. You'll have to forgive him, he's about 12 timezones away from us right now. He promises to return next week, on time, and as you should for the 25th ever Pirate Joe Radio Show!

Skeleton crew today, ladies and gentlemen. I, the cap'm, was the soul crew member on The Pirate Joe Radio Show this morning. It was good, but I'm looking forward to having more people in two weeks when The Pirate Joe Radio Show returns for the Fall semester 2008!

This was our dedication to the television show Supernatural. All the songs we played today are somewhere in the show. It is cleverly written and the music is essentially the best of classic rock! No PJRS next week. Both Viking Christopher and Pirate Joe are going to be tied up during our usual time block next week. See you in two weeks!

Today we had Ashley the Bard working hard along side Pirate Joe and Viking Christopher on air. We had firm moral support (and the occasional joke) added by the newly renamed Vagabond Wagner (formerly Dick Dastardly).

(This is despite having to evacuate the building in the middle of the show).

Today's show was pretty standard faire. Viking Christopher was on air with me, and other Christopher (tentatively referred to as Dick Dastardly) was with us via AIM helping us not to miss anything we may have otherwise.

Today's show featured (in my opinion) some of the best music choices I've made in a good, long, while. This fact was emphasized by the fact that the first hour of the show was spent with Pirate Joe scrambling to get Viking Christopher on the air since Pirate Joe's internet computer wasn't working.

Frusterated with his non-working PS3 and down a crew member as Viking Christopher is off hitting people with heavy sticks, Pirate Joe stands strong in running his vessel, The Pirate Joe Radio Show.

Today was supposed to be Zombie day on the PJRS. Unfortunatley, we had some technical difficulties. Those technical difficulties prevented the lovely and talented Vikind Christopher from making significant contributions to the show. As a result, we did an "old fashioned PJRS" with newsy type things and songs alternating on into infinity. THe current plan is to push the zombie show to next week. Sorry to all, especially DJ Mailyn.

More talk than music this week. Next week, ZOMBIES!!!!!

Today was a show dedicated D&D 4th Edition. You may note that Pirate Joe spends time on air talking about things he's excited about. This was one of those shows. We had calls in from Viking Christopher and Drunkard Ryan to supplement my own knowledge and a special thanks to them and everyone who shows interest in my show and the things I do.

Hey, all. February 29th is a strange date in the fact that it only comes once every four years. In honor of the date, Pirate Joe has decided to do a show that's a little strange for him. Today, I'm going to be playing a lot more music than I usually do, and I'm going to be playing a few more songs from the dredges of my personal music library. Hope you all enjoy! I'm excited.
